The Yard: Escape from Prison Is Coming to Early Access on November 10, 2026

It's official: The Yard: Escape from Prison opens its gates in Early Access on Steam on November 10, 2026. Pack light. You won't be staying long, if you can help it.

What is The Yard?

The Yard is an online co-op prison escape game for up to 6 players. You live the daily routine of an inmate: roll calls, chores, prison jobs. Meanwhile you secretly scavenge materials, craft tools and map out the perfect escape. Do it as a crew, or betray everyone at the last second and slip out first. We won't judge. The warden will.

What's in Early Access on day one

• Online co-op for up to 6 players with in-game voice chat, plus a full singleplayer mode.
• Local split-screen co-op and Steam Remote Play Together.
• Prison jobs: license plate pressing, dishwashing, laundry and tailoring. Great for cash, even better for stealing.
• Crafting and stats: Intelligence and Strength unlock advanced blueprints, gear and specialized escape routes.
• Guards, restricted areas and solitary confinement, for when things go wrong.
• Cafeteria economy: buy insider information or customize your inmate.
• Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud and Leaderboards.

What comes next
